Italy's letter to Grandpa Rome

Dear Grandpa Rome,

Hi Grandpa Rome!! It's me, italy! Germany told me to write a letter to you. Even though you're...gone. Doitsu can be silly sometimes. He says this is called a 'Eulogy' and that it'll help me, and that if I dont do as he says he'll make me eat wurst! I dont wanna eat wurst! Its gross! I dont know how he likes it so much. Pasta is SO much better! anyway, Here it goes.

I remember when i was just a little country. I lived right next to my big brother France! they were all so nice to play with. But then one day you came and took me away. At first I was sad, leaving my friends and brothers behind, but after a while i started to be happy gain. We used to paint and draw and sing together. I think you where proud of my artistic side. Actually I still love painting and singing and drawing and cooking  all because of you! If you ever decide to come back i'll show you all my art and i'll make you all the pasta you want!

Doitsu Just read my letter and says i need to write more. Like about how and why you dissapeared. I dont really know why you went away because i was still little when you did. Maybe it was because you never liked to try anything new. You always used to say that "the old way is the best, my way is the best." But sometimes trying new things is a good thing. Like when I try creating a new pasta with a different sauce or noodle. sometimes it turns out to be amazing!
Or maybe you went away because of all the money you spent on yhour armies but never spent enough on your people. You could have done what we proud Itallians do and waved a very patriotic white flag. Then you could have had a bunch of extra money to buy your poeople gifts and things. Like pasta!
Or maybe it was because you where always so sick. you told me once that it was because your people were all sick from poor living conditions and disease. i tried to make you some soup and get you to  get some rest...but you kept working and working and working...I want to stop writing about you disapearing now...

How about i write about all the good things you did? I'm sure Germany wouldnt mind. because you did so many amazing things Granpa Rome! And theres a lot of them.
You where an Aristocrat, monarchy, and Democracy! All big colorful pretty words! Even Alfred Uses them today! And you have to be pretty good for Alfred to think its cool.
You even invented a form of concrete which you made the first real roads and pretty buildings with. we still use it to this day too! i bet we could even make a 30 feet tall giant sculpture of a bowl of PASTA with it !
Oh and even some of your old laws are still used by some of us. especially by Alfred. he must really look up to you to! I wonder what you'd think of that!

Hope you're proud of me to. (and now i dont have to eat wurst!) Now off to take a well needed siestas. this was a lot of work.
